Position Title: Electronics Repair Technician (Previous Experience Not Required)

 

Job Duties:

Primary Responsibility: Testing, Troubleshooting, Diagnosing and Repair of Automotive Engine and Fuel Injection Control Modules, including component level repairs and rework of surface mount and through hole devices, plus documenting findings, test results and work performed.

 

Equipment Used: Soldering stations, hot air rework stations, microscopes, multi-meters, small hand tools, personal computer & printer, EEPROM programmers, engine control module programmers, ECM test benches. Could also include pedestal grinders & wire wheels for clearing parts, sandblasting cases and covers for the modules, and painting them.

We will provide complete training in all the above tasks and using all tools and equipment.

  • Ability to keep trying to understand things without getting frustrated or giving up.
  • Desire to keep learning day after day and month after month.
  • Motivation to do a better and better job every day.
  • Ability to show up for work, on time, five days a week.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

 

Desirable Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of passive and active electronics components
  • Basic understanding of Ohm's law, and how resistance, voltage, current and power relate to each other.
  • Basic familiarity with electronic circuit schematic symbols.
  • If you think you have a solid understanding of how the 7.3 Power Stroke diesel engine works, we especially want to hear from you, even if you have no background in electronics.

 

Work hours: 8am to 5pm M-F (40 hour week) with little to no overtime, and no weekends. We can give some flexibility to the hours depending on class schedule, child care, and commute distance. Training will be 8am to 5pm M-F.

 

Starting Pay: $15 to $20 per hour depending on qualifications. Paid sick days from initial hiring. Paid holidays after 6 months. Paid vacations after 1 year. No benefits are currently offered to any employees.
